David McKitterick is Honorary Professor of Historical Bibliography in the University, a Fellow and the Librarian of Trinity College. Trinity houses the largest college library in Cambridge with over 300,000 books in a modern facility.

The Wren Library with all its fittings and fixtures was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and was completed in 1695. Most of the College’s library predating 1820 is held in the Wren, including Newton’s copy of Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica published in 1687.
