The Dining Room, New Hall
Sarah Greaves is working on her MA degree in art history.
The art collection at New Hall is thought to be the largest by women artists in the United Kingdom and the second largest in the world. It contains approximately 250 pieces and extends through a broad range of styles and media. Most of the art has been given to the College. The painting in the background is titled, “Gulf Women Prepare for War” by Maggi Hambling.
New Hall was founded in 1954 and is one of three colleges, which admit women only as undergraduates. It has about 360 undergraduates, 70 postgraduates and about 50 Fellows.
