The Yunnan Crabapple Silk Scarf

The Yunnan Crabapple was photographed in the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. The bark of the Malus yunnanensis exfoliates in the autumn leaving these amazing scars of oranges and reds. This was the first tree that I photographed – initially for an exhibition at Summerhall in Edinburgh, which then gave rise to the first series of the scarves.
