I bought these shoes in the best shoe shop in the world – The Shoe Gallery in Lewes.
My sister lives in the US and for 10 years we’ve gone to the Charleston Literary Festival together. One of our rituals is to visit this shoe shop. I bought this pair on our last visit and it’s now not certain when or whether we’ll go again so they’re steeped in associations. They’re just so comfortable so, I have to confess I’ve bought an identical pair so that I don’t have to worry about trashing these ones. They’re made by a British company who normally make men’s shoes, rather tough and practical. These cuties are a bit of an aberration for them I imagine.
