Mr Pete Towers
Queens’ College Carpenter
Carpentry Workshop, Queens’ College

Pete Towers has been at Queens’ College for 32 years. During this time the number of carpenters has fluctuated as has the type of trade skills that are available within the College. The vast majority of the work arises as a result of breakages or where objects have simply worn out. Materials can be as varied as 15th century oak beams to 21st century chipboard work tops.

Queens’ was founded in 1448. It has 535 undergraduates and just under 300 graduate students. There are 87 Fellows and eight maintenance staff from about 100 support personnel.
