Luke Pearce was a third year undergraduate student at King’s College, studying Social and Political Sciences. He was also Chair of the Labour Club for the academic year 2006/07.

The Cambridge Union Society can trace its roots to 1815 and is the pre-eminent debating society in the University. It holds weekly debates during term. Historically, it has played host to speakers such as Lloyd George, Winston Churchill and Theodore Roosevelt whereas more recently The Dalai Lama, F.W. de Klerk, Queen Noor of Jordan and Ronald Reagan have all addressed the Union.
