I bought these in Plymouth. I was walking through an arcade and in the background David Bowie was singing “Put on your red shoes and dance…” and there in the next shop these red shoes seemed to glow in the window. I bought them on an impulse. It didn’t matter what they cost, and I didn’t even try them on. They were just perfect for the time. I could add that I’ve always thought that “dance” was a euphemism for all sorts of things
