These shoes are the most expensive pair I have ever bought and were part of my outfit for the royal opening of the Liverpool Woman’s Hospital in 1995. I was chairman of the Hospital Board and was part of the welcoming committee for Diana, Princess of Wales. She arrived wearing almost identical shoes, the same black opaque tights, same black polo neck under her tangerine suit. She was gorgeous and looked stunning – and I felt suitably dressed.
