Dr David Jones
Fellow of Christ’s College
Darwin’s Rooms, Christ’s College

David Jones is a Life Fellow at Christ’s College and uses Darwin’s rooms to give tutorials to engineering students. He retired from the Department of Engineering in 2005, but continues to work throughout the world as a forensic engineer.

The College was founded in 1437 as God’s-house on land now occupied by King’s College. It moved to its current location in 1448 and was re-founded in 1505 as Christ’s College. The College has 400 undergraduates, 150 postgraduates and 76 Fellows.

The poet John Milton was an undergraduate at the College, as was South African statesman Jan Smuts and the naturalist Charles Darwin, who embarked on his voyage aboard the Beagle shortly after graduating in 1831.
