88 – 15 pairs of red shoes pairs
Red shoes are very important to me because of the strength and freedom they represent.
I was bullied at school and wore large heavy shoes, that even the boys wouldn’t wear. At age 11 I had size 8 feet. There weren’t many shoes made for 11year olds in that size in those days, so I really didn’t have much of a choice in the shoes that I could get. I simply had to have whatever fitted me.
When I was 13 the only shoes that fitted me in the whole country were red. Red shoes, red, non-regulation shoes. Did I feel special? Did I? For the first time I was the envy of some of my peers. The bullying didn’t stop, but I had the red shoes, and as we all know red shoes are magical. I slowly learnt that they were what gave me the strength to deal with the bullying, which continued until I left school.
So now I have more red shoes in my vast collection than any other colour. When I wear them I feel beautiful, courageous, sexy and free.
These are my favourites. And yes, they are quite similar to one pair of very famous red shoes that I can think of. And mine, like those, are magical too.
