I live in Milan but have just spent a fantastic year in Kenya where I bought these shoes. They cost me the equivalent of 80 pence plus 20 pence for the white strap in a busy and chaotic Nairobi market. They are a worn-out memory of a great year of my life. They are a work of art, perfectly moulded to the shape of my foot. I ate, slept, went to school and even went partying with these flip-flops.
I’ll wear them until the sole wears thin, at which point I’ll get them repaired – Kenyan style.
