I had a beloved pair of Rockport sandals that I had worn for years on travels through Mexico, Europe and the US. They finally fell apart while I was staying on a remote island off the coast of Kenya. I had only taken my Rockports with me so when they disintegrated I was in a bit of trouble. The island had only one tiny supply shop and amazingly they had four pairs of beaded flip-flops and, thankfully, one in my size. They may not be the most comfortable shoes and now are hardly worn, but they are treasured.
